Child’s Play NY is a Brooklyn theater develops skills in theater for once a week for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Child’s Play NY is a program for kids who love theater. We believe that through the theatrical arts, children build confidence, compassion and creativity. In our programs, kids are empowered as they live inside of stories and characters and develop their skills as actors. Our mission is to inspire young people to explore the creative process in order to become engaged participants in their world.
The show this semester is Much Ado About Nothing. Benedick & Beatrice think nothing of each other – until their friends trick them into realizing there’s something more between them. Featuring an bumbling sheriff, a deceitful brother, a wry Prince, and a witty bride, Much Ado is one of Shakespeare’s beloved comedies.

The strength of Child’s Play NY is the strength of our teachers. These are truly working actors with a deep commitment to working with young people. They are passionate, intelligent, goofy, creative and compassionate You can feel great about entrusting a part of your child’s artistic education to them.
Jocelyn Greene is the Founder and Executive Director of Child’s Play NY. Jocelyn has been teaching theater to children since 1998. Jocelyn has worked with children in theaters across the country, including Oddfellows Playhouse in Connecticut, and Will Power to Youth in California. She is a teaching artist with Epic Theater Ensemble in New York, bringing Shakespeare into the city’s public high schools. Jocelyn is a member of Actors Equity Association and has performed at The Public Theatre, Ensemble Studio Theatre and New York Theatre Workshop among others. She holds an MFA in Acting from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and a BA in English and Spanish Literature from Wesleyan University.
